Swan River

 I was on my way to town when I decided to turn into the park. There were swans swimming in the river, six of them. These are the first swans that I have seen at the park. These are european  Mute Swans that were brought over to adorn the parks and estates. A great number have taken flight and they threaten the native waterfowl. It is rare to see them in Northern California. The LORD made them beautiful in appearance, but they may not be good for this place.

2Co 5:10  For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
2Co 5:11  Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.
2Co 5:12  For we commend not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to answer them which glory in appearance, and not in heart.

Towards sunset is always a good time for a walk. The bare winter trees and the green grass invite me to enter into another adventure. I walk under a canopy of trees.

  A long established and familiar tree has fallen across the path. It looks like a fishing ship's mast draped with nets, having fallen under the heavy load.

Joh 21:5  Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No.
Joh 21:6  And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.
Joh 21:7  Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher's coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea.
Joh 21:8  And the other disciples came in a little ship; (for they were not far from land, but as it were two hundred cubits,) dragging the net with fishes.

I see this tree holding up the fallen tree as a stronger person of faith, supporting the fallen friend. Another picture is of a pillar, standing strong, when many are falling.Will you be one of the strong trees in these fearful times?

Php 1:27  Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

Joh 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The sky became one of those gorgeous sunsets as I hurried trying to find something to silouette against it. A beautiful sky needs a setting. The oak tree stood giving strength and emotion, somewhat  like the sunset from the movie "Gone with the wind." The age is coming to an end but the Son is rising with healing in his wings.

Mal 4:1  For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
Mal 4:2  But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
Mal 4:3  And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.
