Verses - June 7, 2007

This is often called a buzzard, but we have no buzzards in California. It is a Turkey Vulture. It's red face resembles the color of a turkey. A young lady was walking by where a vulture was gliding, she stopped and as I went by she said I am afraid of the bird. When I left my yard a bird dove down and pecked my head, it was a small bird protecting iy's nest. But what if this bird were to dive at me? I told her not to worry, that the small birds dive at him too.

Luke 21:26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
Luke 21:27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
Luke 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

A dear friend who was treated very bad as a child, recalled looking at the birds and saying: they are so free, look how they fly so high.

2 Sam 22:7 In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.
2 Sam 22:8 Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.
2 Sam 22:9 There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.
2 Sam 22:10 He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet.
2 Sam 22:11 And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind.
2 Sam 22:12 And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies.
2 Sam 22:13 Through the brightness before him were coals of fire kindled.
2 Sam 22:14 The LORD thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice.

Can we rejoice in the simple things? God made the birds and all creation and he said that they were good. Do we see with His eyes the good around us and dwell on the good things? All have been hurt, but let us not dwell on the bad, but the good.

Luke 6:22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.Luke 6:23 Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.

I often would marvel at the tiny Swallows who would fly swiftly above the river after the rain. One morning the Lord had them come close to a bush. They flew in and out, so many. I removed all but these three who looked so perfect. I first saw these birds when I would walk and pray for people in great danger, online. God even allows the bad at times so that we will seek him.

Isa 8:7 Now therefore, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks:
Isa 8:8 And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel.

Isa 8:13 Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.

One peaceful morning the Blue Heron was in an unusual place, perhaps the Lord arranged this meeting.

James 5:7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
James 5:8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
James 5:9 Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.
James 5:10 Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.
James 5:11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.
