The Last Butterfly

A butterfly perches on our porch rail soaking up the sun; he is the last butterfly that I have seen in this end of the season. Butterflies go along with the spring flowers, but the flowers are few now.

Eccl 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
Eccl 3:2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
Eccl 3:3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
Eccl 3:4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

He spreads his wings as an eagle as the sun illuminates his transparent wings, reminding me of stained glass. He rests in his weakness in the glory of the sun.

Isa 40:28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
Isa 40:29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
Isa 40:30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
Isa 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

A special filter reverse the image to darkness, like under a black light. Anyway you view this simple insect, it is a glorious creation of our LORD.

Psa 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

As a child I would pin butterflies to a curtain as a collection. Now, we capture them by a camera to share them unharmed. Symmetry, design, a worm transformed to fly even for a short life, it is a wonder of God.

Col 1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
Col 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
Col 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
Col 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
Col 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
Col 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Col 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
Col 1:19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
Col 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
