Selective Focus

A Saturday afternoon walk is never wasted if I have a camera. A family was gathered around an object on the park trail. It was an unusual moth with owl like eyes.  I googled the name of the moth. It was named Cyclops Polyphemus.  The name was given to a man eating giant in the book of Homer's Odysseys.  The life span of this moth is one week. Her wings are a little droopy because her warranty had expired.

The Bible speaks of giants in the land, real giants for the word of God is true.

Deu 2:20  (That also was accounted a land of giants: giants dwelt therein in old time; and the Ammonites call them Zamzummims;
Deu 2:21  A people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims; but the LORD destroyed them before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelt in their stead:

I had brought with me a 500 mm mirror lens that has an aperture of f8, for those who care to know. Because of it's telephoto range, it is of a very narrow focus and any movement of a shaky hand results in a blurred image. The lens does isolate objects from the background as shown with this simple   foxtail weed.

An attempt to photograph Blackberry blossoms.

A yellow flag Iris that grows in marshes.
Flags were mentioned in the story of baby Moses.

Exo 2:3  And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river's brink.

True pictures from God's creation around us and we have God's word that is forever true. We are not without a witness to the existence and  miracles of God.
