Memories of Old

A leaning tree that made a lovely place for portraits was cut down. I have memories of weddings and happy pictures being made in this place. We remember this day in 1963 when our young president, John F. Kennedy was cut down in his prime. Looking back two thousand years, we remember our Lord Jesus Christ cut down and hung on a tree in his prime, for our salvation. He lives and because of this we live forever in him. Cherish your memories and look for the good.

John 15:20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
An old burl wood tree once admired.

Jer 6:16 Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
The burlwood tree was cut down this week, leaving memories. As our nations constitution is under attack by those who seek change; remember that the founders were men of faith who sought God. Remember this and be in prayer for our nation.

Psa 83:1 A Song or Psalm of Asaph. Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.
Psa 83:2 For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.
Psa 83:3 They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.
Psa 83:4 They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
Psa 83:5 For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:

I can remember an injured goose left behind that we call Randy. He is with Renae now, a companion for the winter ahead. The LORD is good.

Psa 57:9 I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.
Psa 57:10 For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.
Psa 57:11 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth.

Certain trees show their best colors in the fall.

Exo 24:17 And the sight of the glory of the LORD was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel.

Red, orange and yellow leaves. The leaves are dying but giving God the glory. We can do this too, until we are with Him.

1Ch 16:29 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
1Ch 16:30 Fear before him, all the earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be not moved.
1Ch 16:31 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice: and let men say among the nations, The LORD reigneth.
1Ch 16:32 Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof: let the fields rejoice, and all that is therein.
1Ch 16:33 Then shall the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of the LORD, because he cometh to judge the earth.
1Ch 16:34 O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.

Until the end of our season we are to reflect his image.

Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Rom 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Rom 8:30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

Autumn Now

Amber leaves grace the trees.

Lev 23:40 And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven days.
The blur of the end of the season as old eyes blur to see with memories of green trees and the blossoms of youth.

Deu 34:7 And Moses was an hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated.
Sharon street; Sharon must have loved the colors of Autumn.

Sharon; a district on the east of the Jordan around Gilead and Bashan.

Isa 65:10 And Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, and the valley of Achor a place for the herds to lie down in, for my people that have sought me.
A Chinese elm, I believe. A creation of our LORD.

Gen 37:3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours.
The park is lovely in the Fall. Soon the bare branches will reveal the hawks who watch from on high.

Mar 13:31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
Mar 13:32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
Mar 13:33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
The last flowers of the season are the wild asters that grow by the side of the pond.

1Th 5:1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
1Th 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
1Th 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
1Th 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
1Th 5:5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
1Th 5:6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

Friends gather for fellowship.

Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Bobbing for apples? No, but there is moss under there.

Rth 2:2 And Ruth the Moabitess said unto Naomi, Let me now go to the field, and glean ears of corn after him in whose sight I shall find grace. And she said unto her, Go, my daughter.
They take turns, for the food is there for those who are diligent.

Pro 10:4 He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
Can you tell which one is the female?

Pro 18:22 Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.

Abstract stars end my visit to the park.

Joel 2:10 The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:
Joel 2:11 And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?
Joel 2:12 Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:
Joel 2:13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.

Gangs Are Here

Randy and the ground squirrel survived the rock throwing and the mean squirrel burying boys. That danger was now past.

Psa 18:19 He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.

The sounds of honking are heard as overhead a flock circles to land in the pond.

Num 10:7 But when the congregation is to be gathered together, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm.
It is always thrilling to see the geese gliding in for a landing.

Mar 13:18 And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter.
One more pair comes to join the flock.

Psa 34:3 O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.
Soon, another flock arrives. They spot Randy and Renae and the first flock in the water.

1Ki 1:40 And all the people came up after him, and the people piped with pipes, and rejoiced with great joy, so that the earth rent with the sound of them.
1Ki 1:41 And Adonijah and all the guests that were with him heard it as they had made an end of eating. And when Joab heard the sound of the trumpet, he said, Wherefore is this noise of the city being in an uproar?

They look like aircraft landing on a carrier.

The second flock lands next to the first.

Ecc 9:12 For man also knoweth not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them.
Strife breaks out as the head geese seek to be dominant, like Arab harem lords.

Mar 9:35 And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.

Look at the wings on that one.

Pro 23:4 Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.
Pro 23:5 Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.

The squirrel heads for his hole, sensing danger. Renae is alarmed by the rodent and she too is alerted. Randy wonders what has gotten into his mate?

Pro 2:10 When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;
Pro 2:11 Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:
Pro 2:12 To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;

The warring gangs form an alliance and join single file as they approach the shore where Randy and Renae are waiting for their company.

Isa 42:16 And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.

Another squadron fills the sky.

They land together and climb the cliffs, not like Normandy in WW2, but as winged invaders.

Psa 7:4 If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me; (yea, I have delivered him that without cause is mine enemy:)
Randy defends his territory and Renae.

Joshua 1:9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
These are some big Chicago gang style geese. Company is welcome, but give us some room too.

1Ki 8:38 What prayer and supplication soever be made by any man, or by all thy people Israel, which shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:
1Ki 8:39 Then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men;)
1Ki 8:40 That they may fear thee all the days that they live in the land which thou gavest unto our fathers.
Randy and Renae separate themselves. Perhaps the gangs just need to rest and eat of the lush grass in the park. We will stay separate and seek to keep the peace.

Luk 6:22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.
Luk 6:23 Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
