Puzzle

The weather is cold and I do not get out to walk much so it is puzzle time. It is said that each of our lives in Christ are part of a bigger puzzle. Each person is a piece of the puzzle. This is similar to the metaphor of being a part of the body of Christ.

Rom 12:4  For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:
Rom 12:5  So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
Rom 12:6  Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
Rom 12:7  Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;
Rom 12:8  Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

When the individual puzzle pieces get to thinking they are stars, or that they are something, they obscure the clarity of the puzzle. People who serve Christ for their own names sake, do not show the true image of Christ.

Rom 12:3  For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Rom 12:9  Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
Rom 12:10  Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

This green pepper looks like a face, but it is only a pepper.

A different angle of the same pepper shows another face, like a monkey. It is still a pepper. The truth is that there are only two kinds of people, the born again and the natural man. Some of the natural people say they evolved from monkeys. The born again know that God created all.

Gen 1:1  In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

A bouquet in a big Christmas ornament was a gift to my wife from her crochet group. She has not been able to crochet for three months with her arm in a sling. Do we take for granted the gifts that the LORD has given to us? Are we unable to use them, or have we purposely let them lay unused? Hopefully each of us will realize our gifts and callings in order to glorify the Lord.

Rom 12:11  Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
Rom 12:12  Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
Rom 12:13  Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
Rom 12:14  Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
Rom 12:15  Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
Rom 12:16  Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.

Seasons Sudden Change

I like these colorful wind wheels that are sold in the Spring at the Dollar store.  Every breeze is seen as the wheel turns. Spring turns to summer and summer to fall as the wheel turns.(Sounds like a radio soap opera?) I had raked the leaves in the front yard and that very night there was a frost.

Job 37:9  Out of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north.
Job 37:10  By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.

 The frost loosened the leaves of our giant pecan tree. The leaves were six inches deep on the ground! I finally raked them up Saturday. There was only a handful of pecans this year.

Dan 4:13  I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a watcher and an holy one came down from heaven;
Dan 4:14  He cried aloud, and said thus, Hew down the tree, and cut off his branches, shake off his leaves, and scatter his fruit: let the beasts get away from under it, and the fowls from his branches:

With the season comes rain clouds. We do need rain in California.

Deu 4:11  And ye came near and stood under the mountain; and the mountain burned with fire unto the midst of heaven, with darkness, clouds, and thick darkness.
Deu 4:12  And the LORD spake unto you out of the midst of the fire: ye heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude; only ye heard a voice.
Deu 4:13  And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.

My last visit to the park was blessed by a gentle rain.

Eze 34:26  And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing.
Eze 34:27  And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase, and they shall be safe in their land, and shall know that I am the LORD, when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and delivered them out of the hand of those that served themselves of them.
Eze 34:28  And they shall no more be a prey to the heathen, neither shall the beast of the land devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and none shall make them afraid.

This little dog was unleashed and enjoying a romp as his owner was playing frisbee golf at the park. Maybe for the dog this was his first rain? The dog was supposed to be leashed, but many ignor the rules and laws.

1Ti 1:8  But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;
1Ti 1:9  Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, ...

The God who created nature also controls the destiny of the earth's people. Be still and know the LORD is God. In Jesus we are his beloved family.
