Finishing the Task

Things to do: sleep, rest and find a warm comfy spot to lay upon... catch a mouse or rat? Naw, I prefer catching a bird while he is busy eating bird seed. Life is about sleeping and eating...being a nuisance. Oh, and I do not belong here, but I chose this yard as my recreation place.

Pro 24:30  I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;
Pro 24:31  And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.
Pro 24:32  Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.
Pro 24:33  Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
Pro 24:34  So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.

Someone got busy and cleaned up some of the clutter, but who will drive this load to the dumping place? It is too much but someone needs to finish the job.

Exo 5:5  And Pharaoh said, "Behold, the people of the land are now many, and you make them rest from their burdens!"
Exo 5:6  The same day Pharaoh commanded the taskmasters of the people and their foremen,
Exo 5:7  "You shall no longer give the people straw to make bricks, as in the past; let them go and gather straw for themselves.
Exo 5:8  But the number of bricks that they made in the past you shall impose on them, you shall by no means reduce it, for they are idle. Therefore they cry, 'Let us go and offer sacrifice to our God.'
Exo 5:9  Let heavier work be laid on the men that they may labor at it and pay no regard to lying words."
Exo 5:10  So the taskmasters and the foremen of the people went out and said to the people, "Thus says Pharaoh, 'I will not give you straw.
Exo 5:11  Go and get your straw yourselves wherever you can find it, but your work will not be reduced in the least.'"
Exo 5:12  So the people were scattered throughout all the land of Egypt to gather stubble for straw.
Exo 5:13  The taskmasters were urgent, saying, "Complete your work, your daily task each day, as when there was straw."

It is easy to complain when vandals destroy things, but do we give thanks when things are restored?

Luk 19:8  And Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, "Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor. And if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I restore it fourfold."
Luk 19:9  And Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, since he also is a son of Abraham.
Luk 19:10  For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost."

The ramp to the fishing dock is replaced and the dock has new flooring. Well done. They completed what was promised.

Jas 2:20  But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
Jas 2:21  Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
Jas 2:22  Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
Jas 2:23  And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
Jas 2:24  Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

Ahead may be an obstacle with two paths. Which path will you choose? If you look closely there is a bench under the tree to rest upon and to wait upon the LORD. All life is controlled by faith and our choices. We must choose wisely as though we were being led by the LORD. He decides the outcome, we trust in HIM for he is the object of our faith.

Pro 3:5  Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Pro 3:6  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Pro 3:7  Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
Pro 3:8  It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

God is Faithful

The Trumpet flower on the Jimson weed rolls up like a scroll as the sun sets. God is faithful to bring these familiar flowers from year to year. Someday it will end and the heavens will be rolled up like a scroll.

Rev 6:12  And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
Rev 6:13  And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
Rev 6:14  And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
Rev 6:15  And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
Rev 6:16  And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
Rev 6:17  For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

The Buttonwillow blooms and the stems look like the diagram of a molecule. The LORD created all from nothing. How is it that people do not give him credit?

Psa 33:6  By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
Psa 33:7  He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses.
Psa 33:8  Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
Psa 33:9  For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.
Psa 33:10  The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect.
Psa 33:11  The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.
Psa 33:12  Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

Randy the wounded goose is back with many of his friends. He has been at or near the park for five years now. The LORD has provided for him and he is faithful to us as well.

Psa 119:90  Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth.

Baby ducks on the river hurry back to the shelter of branches in the water. Hawks are enemies from above and otters from below. Life is beautiful but with it's dangers. Family should stay together; the older ducks call from the shelter of the branches.

A beautiful sunset ends the walk.

Psa 108:3  I will praise thee, O LORD, among the people: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations.
Psa 108:4  For thy mercy is great above the heavens: and thy truth reacheth unto the clouds.
Psa 108:5  Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: and thy glory above all the earth;
