Random thoughts

The winter winds have shattered this tree. When the winds of change come we must be anchored in a safe place. So many changes are occurring in our world that are causing many people to be shattered and in pieces, but we haven't seen anything yet. I know my place is in the Lord. If I think I stand in my own strength, I know that when challenges come, that it is the Lord that is my strength. It is a walk of faith, not self achievement. The Lord is our strength and our source of victory in all areas and times of life.

Psa 28:6  Blessed be the LORD, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications.
Psa 28:7  The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.

This was the lowest price of gas in many years. In a weeks time the price is up 30 cents. Can we rely on low gas prices? It would be good, but things change rapidly.

1Th 5:1  But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
1Th 5:2  For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
1Th 5:3  For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
1Th 5:4  But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
1Th 5:5  Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
1Th 5:6  Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

The onion face is sweating with fear over small things. How will he fare when real trouble comes? Come to Jesus, not with sentimentality, but with all your heart, for he is your salvation.

Luk 23:28  But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children.
Luk 23:29  For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck.
Luk 23:30  Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us.
Luk 23:31  For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?

I purchased a purple cabbage at the dollar store. What a beautiful color it has, it reminds my of royalty or a curtain at a grand theater. Perhaps it was as the curtain that separated the holy of holies in the temple in Jerusalem?

Mat 27:50  Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
Mat 27:51  And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

Heb 4:14  Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
Heb 4:15  For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Heb 4:16  Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

A friendly dove likes to hang out at the feeder. The dove is a symbol of peace. Often he is surrounded by sparrows clamoring for food. He becomes one of them, different but at peace in their presence. The Holy Spirit is as a dove, gentle, in our midst, part of our life and adding strength and power. Thank you Lord for your Holy Spirit.

John 14:26  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
John 14:27  Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
