Just Birds

It must be "choose your partner" time for the Turkey Vultures as they congregate in the tall Sycamore tree, as viewed from my back yard. I try to look alive when I am outside.

Mat 24:28  Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather. (ESV)

On a walk in the park I see a familiar bird; the Common Egret. It never looks common to me with it's angel wings, long neck and snow white feathers.

Pro 25:13  As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to them that send him: for he refresheth the soul of his masters.

Are we faithful messengers of the good news that Jesus has come to cleanse us of our sins,  so that we may live with him in heaven?

Sharing the marsh is another friend, the Blue Heron. He keeps his distance as he likes to hunt alone. Being alone is not always so good.

Ecc 4:9  Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.
Ecc 4:10  For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.
Ecc 4:11  Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?
Ecc 4:12  And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

Siesta time for the two mallards near the back pond. They tuck there beaks under a wing.

Rom 11:5  Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
Rom 11:6  And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
Rom 11:7  What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded
Rom 11:8  (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day

Pedro, the South American Muscovy duck is trying to rest as well. Perhaps he is day dreaming unaware of the attractive new visiting duck?

Heb 13:1  Let brotherly love continue.
Heb 13:2  Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

Wow, now there is a pretty duck that is new to the bunch. Is Pedro aware of this new lady?  I will call her Rosa, a lovely addition to this bunch of paddlers.

1Pe 3:3  It is not fancy hair, gold jewelry, or fine clothes that should make you beautiful.
1Pe 3:4  No, your beauty should come from inside you--the beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit. That beauty will never disappear. It is worth very much to God.
