Are You Watching Me ?

The same baby ducks that were so frightened of me now gently keep there distance. They know I am watching but they feel safe now.

Psa 23:4  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

An Osprey in her nest above the flood lights. So much for the notion that birds need old growth forests to survive. Managed forests are less likely to be destroyed by fire.

Gen 2:15  And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

A young Doe pauses to get a look . Posing for a "selfie?"

Psa 42:1  ... As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God.

The white duck has replaced the two Mexican ducks. The wild Mallards are happy enough. The one in the center has a glow to her countenance.

Song 2:14  O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely.

Fear Not

As I approached the river at the park a Goldfinch flies on a branch nearby.

Suddenly, a flock of baby ducks splash forward with great fear fleeing the danger of my presence. Fear is instinctive to them for there are predators above and from below.

Gen 9:1  And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.
Gen 9:2  And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.

They were a great distance away when the mother duck joins them and they were feeling safe gathered next to her. Young ones need the protection of a mother and a father.

Psa 131:2  Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child.
Psa 131:3  Let Israel hope in the LORD from henceforth and for ever.

A little further near a pond a flycatcher lands on a twig oblivious to me but intent on catching a meal.

Pro 13:4  The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.

A broken reed in the pond brought to mind Bible verses about reeds.

2Ki 18:21  Now, behold, thou trustest upon the staff of this bruised reed, even upon Egypt, on which if a man lean, it will go into his hand, and pierce it: so is Pharaoh king of Egypt unto all that trust on him.

Isa 42:1  Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.
Isa 42:2  He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.
Isa 42:3  A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.

We are to fear God and not man. Jesus loves us.

A Blue Heron alights in the shade. A friend showed me pictures that he has taken of birds landing that were magnificent. God's creation is so amazing.

Psa 91:4  He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
Psa 91:5  Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
Psa 91:6  Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
Psa 91:7  A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

Little pink flowers, (Pinks?)
They are lovely and a bit out of focus. Fear may cause us to lose focus, but we are to look to Jesus who has given to us abundant life.

Heb 12:1  Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Heb 12:2  Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
