Fall Feathers - November 26, 2007

The ducks make a V for victory water trail, as they swim towards me.

1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
1 John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
1 John 5:5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

The young Mallard drakes line up for inspection as the captain swims by.

2 Tim 2:1 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
2 Tim 2:2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
2 Tim 2:3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
2 Tim 2:4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

As usual, the White Egret flies away as I approach. It is a beautiful bird, like an angel.

Psa 91:11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
Psa 91:12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Psa 91:13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
Psa 91:14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
Psa 91:15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
Psa 91:16 With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation.

A Grebe leaves a straight line in the warm Fall reflections.

Jer 31:9 They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.

Luke 3:4 As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
Luke 3:5 Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth;
Luke 3:6 And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

The sun sets behind the Cottonwood trees.

Eph 4:26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
Eph 4:27 Neither give place to the devil.

Cold Fall Morning - November 20, 2007

The sycamore leaf lights up as a lamp from the sun behind.

2 Sam 22:27 With the pure thou wilt show thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt show thyself unsavoury.
2 Sam 22:28 And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them down.
2 Sam 22:29 For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness.

A pattern of color as I shivered in the cold wind, this morning.

1 Tim 1:16 Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

The Egret flew away from me to be with other birds. He really does not fit in with the Canadian Geese.

2 Cor 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
2 Cor 6:18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Fall Remains Standing - November 17, 2007

My mind was on showing more pictures of our ocean trip, so here are two more. I admire the passion and perseverance of the surfers, always looking for that next big wave. If knocked down, they get up again. This is how we are to live our Christian life. I am looking for something bigger and better than the waves.

Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Titus 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

He is on top of it now. He had caught the wave and it carries him forward.

1 Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1 Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Yesterdays experience builds faith, but we should not be living in the past. I picked up the camera for a visit to the local ponds and was delighted to see new images. The word of God should be new each day. That which we have heard should build faith, yet we always need the fresh word, the fresh bread from heaven.

Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

John 6:49 Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.
John 6:50 This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.
John 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

Heavenly Blue morning glories

Psa 97:6 The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.
Psa 97:7 Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods.
Psa 97:8 Zion heard, and was glad; and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of thy judgments, O LORD.
Psa 97:9 For thou, LORD, art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods.

The Maple trees are still bursting with color.

The leaves appear as numerous and varied as the stars. How beautiful are the works of our Lord's hands. His wisdom and truth is the tree of life.

Prov 3:18 She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.
Prov 3:19 The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.

I love the white egret, so meek and quiet, yet always watchful.

Mat 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

Northern California Coast - November 14, 2007

My Grandson Tim with the Redwood trees, They are some of the oldest trees, some were alive when Jesus was walking on earth.

John 1:34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.
John 1:35 Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;
John 1:36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!

A Seagull greets us as we came to the ocean. The shore line is beautiful and we stayed at a motel facing the pacific ocean.

John 21:4 But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.
John 21:5 Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No.
John 21:6 And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.

The waves crash against the perilous rocks, not a place to be with a boat.

Mark 4:37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
Mark 4:38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
Mark 4:39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
Mark 4:40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

To be alone with God on a deserted beach is partly why many come to the ocean. The sound of the waves, the birds busy seeking food, the quiet morning mist. This girl could be someone I knew who received the Lord on the Internet, now away with no contact, but not away from God. God is with us always in all places and circumstances.

Heb 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

The sun sets over the ocean as a pelican flies above. A moment of time when all seemed to come together at the right time. A bonfire ends the day, roasting hot dogs, the wind blowing smoke away and then towards us. Time to get closer to the fire and be warmed. Family, friends, the beach and a bonfire. Will you join me next time?

Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Civil War - November 12, 2007

Union soldiers at ease. Just buddies talking at the park, setting up for Civil War reenactments. North and South, both American, both of a common Christian faith; can't we get along?

Old enough to be generals, these two load the canon for battle.

Union soldier with gear.

The young too, often were involved in war.

A Southern Confederate soldier.

Women in the clothing of that era.

Confederate and union boys, getting along together. America, let's get along with one another.
Mat 12:25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

A Choir member singing, the battle hymn of the Republic. Smile America, be friendly with one another. United we stand. Put aside your differences and sing...God Bless America. We need God now to keep us united...Amen
