Familiar Things

It has been some time since I have walked the park trail. In the afternoon hot sun I brought a camera, not yet using a walker.  With camera I see more things, familiar things like the Marsh Marigold. These cover much of the ponds, thriving in the summer sun.

There were a few blooms left on the Button Willow plant that looks like a miniature pin cushion.

The Mullein plant was translucent in the sun and fuzzy to the touch. An extract from the leafs are used to supposedly improve  the lungs. "This product is one of nature's most underrated herbs and I highly recommend it for any lung or bronchial issues one may have. It opens up the lungs to allow better air flow into the lungs." Says one user of this herb.

A big oak tree remains fallen near the trail. I recall seeing this one last year. It reminds me of it's  fallen glory, such as a nation that once was stromg but turned from God

One reason for not walking in the park trails was that the river had overflowed and washed away the asphalt trail. A chain link fence is up to discourage bicycles. You can walk around them, but the trail is covered in rocks.

1Peter 2:3  If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
1Peter 2:4  To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
1Peter 2:5  Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

I made a trip to see Shasta Dam on my way to another destination. The water level looks pretty good. The rainy season will be coming soon.  It is hard to know how much water to release.

John 7:37  In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
John 7:38  He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
