Morning Thaw

 It is after the morning Prayer breakfast that I was able to visit the park again. The trees are stark having lost their leaves. The sun felt good on my back as I walked.

It is unusual to see a Blue Heron like this on a manmade structure. It was upon the rail of the fishing dock thawing it's feathers  in the morning sun.

His feathers are ornate, reminding me of of a nineteenth century fashionable ladies hat, God designed him to be eloquent and reclusive. He is usually stomping or wading in the marsh looking for food. He normally would fly away as I approach. He did fly away with a sqwaaack, when I turned away from him.

A close up of his one leg shows his talons grasping the pole. He is like the geese and ducks who sleep on one leg and with their head under a wing. Is this what is meant by the expression "get a grip"?

Rom 12:9  Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.

No head under wing here. This is Randy preening himself. He has been here with a broken wing since 2011. He is the only goose at the park on this winter day.

1Pe 3:3  Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear—
1Pe 3:4  but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious.

Pond reflections make a kaleidoscope design. The mirror image stimulates my imagination. Imagine that? It doesn't take much to entertain me when I am out in God's creation.

Jas 1:23  For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror.
Jas 1:24  For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like.
Jas 1:25  But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.

The ground was slippery in spots so I watched as I walked. These leaves were in the path, they looked interesting. Looking closer I see the shape of an eagles head. Eaglewings Ministries will celebrate 18 years on aol this December 31. It has been a wonderful walk with the Lord.

Exo 19:4  You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles' wings and brought you to myself.
Exo 19:5  Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is mine;
Exo 19:6  and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. These are the words that you shall speak to the people of Israel."
