Wild things

I am used to seeing doves come to my bird feeder, but this one was taken in the wild at the park. The peaceful dove speaks such a soft cooing sound. It is symbolic of the peaceful holy spirit; so gentle and yet the Holy Spirit has the power of God. You will find God in the quiet peaceful places, as well as in the storms of life.

1Ki 19:11  And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake:
1Ki 19:12  And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

Nah 1:7  The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

I was curious about this plant that came up in my tomato patch. In the past I had grown okra in this location, but the seed pod never grew out to be an okra vegetable.  The leaves were heart shaped and soft to the touch. I found the name of this plant to be the velvet weed. They originated from China and India where they were cultivated for the fiber to make ropes and nets. The seeds are edible and used as food in China and India.

Mar 1:17  And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.
Mar 1:18  And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him.

A closer look at a common lizard reveals strange looking feet. They move fast on all kinds of ground and run up posts or trees with the greatest of ease...on a warm day. Care to knit socks for this dragon like creature? Perhaps gloves? There are 6000 different kinds of lizards. The LORD is a great creator and the "dragon" is his adversary..

Rev 12:7  And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
Rev 12:8  And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
Rev 12:9  And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

This wild Canadian Goose is our friend Randy. He has spent five years at the park with his broken wing. The lifespan of a Canadian Goose is from ten to twenty years.

Gen 2:19  And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

A Canadian Goose; Randy is his name.
