IN THE MIDST OF THE MIST

In the late afternoon the fog came ashore blotting out the length of the pier.
The fog reminded me of a Bible passage concerning our plans and God's plans for us.

Jas 4:13  Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
Jas 4:14  Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
Jas 4:15  For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

We sometimes walk with our head in the clouds.
We may make plans for this life, but we should always seek direction from the LORD.

The incoming water looks like a bird with wings spread out. An eagle?
Or is it the moving of the Holy Spirit over the waters, as in Genesis?

Gen 1:2  And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
Gen 1:3  And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

The Crescent City lighthouse is the guiding light on the rock.
Jesus is my lighthouse. He is the light and the rock and strength of my life.

Mat 5:14  Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Mat 5:15  Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Mat 5:16  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
