Just In Passing, Stop To Look

A walk in the park is always good to do, you never know what you will see.

Jer 6:16  Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.

A quick picture of a Scrub Jay reveals a snack.

Mat 6:26  Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

From the walkway bridge over a section of the pond, I saw a 6 inch long red crawdad.

Jambalaya song

Jambalaya, crawfish pie and fillet gumbo
For tonight, I'm-a gonna see my ma cher a mi-o
Pick guitar, fill fruit jar and be gay-o
Son of a gun, we'll have big fun on the bayou

Pro 17:22  A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

Time to do the chores.
Some things we older guys might not be doing, but we keep doing.

Isa 40:31  But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Multicolored

My wife Faye loved to crochet and she enjoyed making quilts with the ladies at church. Before she passed away she wanted the church to have her quilting materials and the squares and pieces she had cut out.  Last Sunday at church, two ladies who knew my wife called us up to receive this gift of a completed quilt from Fayes pieces. They had been rescued from last years fire and assembled for my daughter and I as a gift.

Col 3:23  And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
Col 3:24  Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

This is the label on the back of the quilt. Faye loved Hummingbirds.

Gal 6:9  And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Gal 6:10  As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Meet "Clucky" a Rainbow Ranger hen.  She showed up one afternoon and followed me into the back yard. I inquired around to find out if anyone had chickens, but could not find an owner. Clucky loves to scratch in the back yard and comes running when I am around. At night I keep her in the garage where she has made a nest  on a cabinet between two soap boxes.  She pays rent with a brown egg each day. I have been feeding the wild birds, so now the Lord brought me a pet chicken.

Mat 23:37  O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
Mat 23:38  Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.
Mat 23:39  For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

There was only one bird on the pond at the park. She is a hybrid duck.

On the river a wild duck tries to take flight on the water. Reminds me of  getting older and not being able to get up all at once. Keep going, you will make it.

Pro 20:29  The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the gray head.

I was about 100 yards from a wedding couple from India, being photographed in their traditional wedding attire. The bride was in a red and gold gown, behind the groom. A poor photo, but they certainly were multicolored. A young man was looking at them with me and he commented that he loved the customs of other nations; but, our own nation is a mess. I replied, yes we need to turn back to the Bible and the values  that our country was founded on. He agreed.

Pro 3:5  Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Pro 3:6  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Pro 3:7  Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
Pro 3:8  It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
